The key to an efficient HAZOP facilitation is to get the right people in the room, keep the HAZOP Panel focussed on the identification of concerns and record these concerns without falling into the trap of redesigning the plant during the HAZOP. An independent and knowledgeable facilitator is key to ensuring these objectives are met.

HAZOP is a systematic approach to the identification of Hazard and Operating concerns during the design stage (30-60%) of an engineering process. Required for the HAZOP is detailed P&IDs, control narrative and input from all stakeholders (the “HAZOP Panel”). The process of a HAZOP is to assess the process using a series of guidewords and process parameters which will allow the panel to identify the risks associated with deviations from the systems design intent.  

AE has the knowledge and the experience to ensure your HAZOP will be delivered efficiently and effectively and in accordance with AS 61882. HAZOPs can be undertaken face to face, via video conference or in a hybrid.
